Whitney is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT #131780 in the State of California. At RtW, she was supervised by Kat Zwick.
Whitney joined RtW as an interim therapist at RtW, filling in for Dr. Ashleigh Kramer-Walthall and transitioned into an Eating Disorders & Family Therapy Fellowship in August 2020. Whitney graduated from her Fellowship in April 2022.
Prior to joining RtW, Whitney had focused mostly on working with eating disorders, highly sensitive people, groups, families, couples, and narcissistic/co-dependent relationship patterns, including those involving abuse.
Whitney uses the client’s relationship with their body as the foundation for her work with them. She uses somatic mindfulness practices to deepen the client’s emotional awareness and to call in healing of trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, co-dependency patterns and more. She additionally brings skills-based work to assist clients in reducing destructive, unhelpful, or ineffective behaviors.
Whitney is currently in the process of becoming certified as an Imago practitioner. She is implementing her learning with couples in particular, and also with family work.
Another area of focused exploration for Whitney has been child development and parenting. Whitney is an attachment-oriented therapist when it comes to supporting the parent/child relationship. She believes that when working with children and youth it is vitally important to work congruently with parents and caregivers as well.
Whitney is committed to allowing therapy to unfold naturally. She works intuitively moment to moment to attune to each particular client using depth oriented therapy practices.
